APA President Appointed Chair of Hawaii Public Utilities Commission


APA President Leo Asuncion, Jr., AICP, was appointed by Hawaii Gov. David Ige to serve as chair of the state's Public Utilities Commission. Asuncion has served as a commissioner on PUC since 2019. His term as chair will run through 2026.
Leo is serving his final year as president of APA. With his leadership, APA has navigated the ongoing impacts of the pandemic on the association and its members, including the recent successful return to an in-person National Planning Conference. Prior to serving as president, Leo served on APA's Board of Directors, the Chapter Presidents Council, and as president of the APA Hawaii Chapter.
