Maryland Department of Planning
Baltimore, None, United States
As Maryland's statewide planning agency, the Maryland Department of Planning promotes sound planning policy while offering technical assistance to local governments. The department produces planning data and research including geospatial and data analysis, mapping and projections, and planning coordination services for local assistance and training, infrastructure development and resource conservation. Planning strives to provide professional level educational opportunities for busy practitioners, and offers timely and topical programs as a service to local governments and citizens. The Maryland Department of Planning operates the Smart Growth Information Clearinghouse (SGIC) through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. EPA Office of Sustainable Communities. The SGIC is a service of the Maryland Department of Planning that provides webinars and other educational opportunities for planners, so MDP-produced webinars will be marketed with the SGIC label.
