Overview

Joy Todd, PVHS Board President, will provide a tour of the museum and botanical garden.  During the tour and following the tour, Joy will speak about how the museum fits into the community as well as discuss the maps, items and archives which outlines the development of the area.  In particular, she will share the process in which the City of Camarillo was established including the transportation routes, neighborhoods, and subdivisions.  The evolution of the area follows past agricultural, industrial, residential, and community patterns over the years.  The museum has established ties with other organizations such as UC Berkley in that the garden is an urban bee lab and the museum provides information about bees and butterflies and how they benefit a community.  Joy will also share how the museum can be a resource for planners when researching historical reports and preparing studies to establish a base for a location's historical past.
