Join the Planning and the Black Community Division for its 40th anniversary at Forward, a two-day virtual conference, November 6–7, to address issues of significance to the Black community and map a path toward the next 40 years.

The opening session "Black Planners Emerge" examines the experience of Black planners in their pursuit of social justice, racial inclusion, and diversity within the planning profession. All are welcome to attend for educational sessions, networking opportunities, and a student mixer.

APA's Planning and the Black Community Division provides a forum for sharing knowledge and supporting professional development among Black planners.

Reducing barriers to certification

If planners are to achieve equitable communities that reflect the needs and vision of their residents, the planning profession must include more diverse perspectives. To help reduce a barrier to AICP Certification, the AICP Diversity Scholarships offer financial assistance for applying for AICP Certification. Contact your local chapter Professional Development Officer to learn more about applying for 2021 scholarships.
Don't let COVID interrupt your career goals

If you already have an approved AICP Certification Application, this is your last chance to register for the November 2020 exam. Register by October 30 for a safe, convenient online or in-person testing appointment during the November exam window.

Looking for the next step in your planning career? Learn more about the value of AICP certification and make 2021 your year of AICP. The next application window opens December 1!
