Built environment and health
Planning evolved as a response to issues in the built environment, like overcrowding, that contributed to public health crises. In this Research KnowledgeBase collection, search for resources that provide background or policy guidance, as well as examples of plans and regulations that illustrate how cities, counties, and regional agencies are changing the built environment to improve health outcomes. APA and AICP members are invited to join the Code of Ethics Update Task Force for a town hall Wednesday, June 9, 1 – 2 p.m. ET to learn more. Members can also contribute their feedback during the member comment period in June; more information about the town hall and month-long member comment period will be coming soon. |
