Agritourism | Food Systems

This master plan amendment addresses agritourism uses in the southwestern portion of the county. It aims to enhance tourism activity and to lay the groundwork for a more exclusive agricultural zoning district to support and preserve actual agricultural uses.

The plan establishes the boundaries for the planning area, describes development elements (clustered development patterns, setbacks from area roadways, hillside preservation areas, and existing roadside vegetation preservation) to facilitate tourism development while protecting rural character. It adds an “agri-tourism” land use category to the master plan with design ideals, primary and secondary uses, and desired characteristics and location.
