Student Representatives Council

The mission of the SRC is to promote student engagement with APA at the national, state, and local levels; to ensure that APA's programs and services benefit student interests; and to provide a mechanism whereby student planners can influence the development of the planning profession.

Student Representation

The Student Representatives Council (SRC) is a leadership body made up of one Student Representative from each APA-recognized Planning Student Organization (PSO), and an Executive Committee consisting of the Chair, Immediate Past Chair, and six Regional Representatives.

All PSOs have one elected student representative to represent their fellow students and to liaise with the SRC governing body, its SRC Executive Committee and the Association. Elections occur each year and are organized by the individual PSO.

Executive Committee

The SRC Executive Committee helps shape APA's policies that affect student issues, keeps SRC Student Representatives apprised of APA programs, advises the APA Board of Directors, AICP Commission, and other leadership groups, and helps organize student events at the National Planning Conference.

List of SRC Executive Committee Members

The SRC Executive Committee is elected every two years by APA student members. The new SRC Executive Committee took office January 2018. The next election will occur in the Spring/Summer of 2019.
