APA Student Representatives Council Awards
Outstanding Student Project Award
PROJECT: Autism Planning and Design Guidelines 1.0, Columbus, Ohio
AWARDEE: The Ohio State University, City and Regional Planning
GOAL: Create a design framework that addresses the needs of people with autism in the public realm.
RESULT: Nine Ohio State graduate students and 31 undergraduate students created APA's Planning with Underserved Populations Interest Group and Autism Planning and Design Guidelines 1.0 after more than a year of collaboration with adults with autism, parent caregivers of adults with autism, professionals from planning and related fields, and experts on autism and mental health.

PROJECT: Queets Village Relocation Vision
AWARDEE: Portland State University, Master of Urban and Regional Planning Program
GOAL: Develop a plan that protects the people of Queets, Washington, from the threat of tsunami and accommodates the growth of their community.
RESULT: Collaborated with tribal governments and their communities to identify a safe development area, as well as the designs and policies that will ensure infrastructure that supports a healthy, prosperous community and the perpetuation of the Quinault Indian Nation's culture.
