Clark University Graduate Programs and Fellowships

Clark University's Department of International Development, Community and Environment (IDCE) offers four IDCE graduate programs and fellowships up to $48,900 in: Community Development and Planning, International Development and Social Change, Environmental Science and Policy, and Geographic Information Sciences for Development and Environment. The Community Development and Planning program provides current and future community development practitioners, activists, and scholars with a strong foundation — based on theory, skill development, and practice — to take on the challenges of urban revitalization in the United States.

Crafton Tull Foundation Scholarship

Crafton Tull is a civil engineering, surveying, architecture, landscape architecture, and planning firm with more than 200 employees working out of seven offices across Arkansas and Oklahoma. Our 501(c)(3), the Crafton Tull Foundation, is launching its first ever scholarship for the Spring 2018 semester. The applicant must be a Junior or Senior student seeking first bachelor's degree in the fields of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Surveying, and Planning.

Applications are due November 1, 2017.

Total amount $5,000

• $2,500 for 1st place
• $1,500 for 2nd place
• $1,000 for 3rd place

Application Requirements

2. Applicant must be a graduate of an Arkansas or Oklahoma High School.*
3. Applicant must be a Collegiate Junior or Senior student seeking first professional degree in one of the fields of interest listed in this application.
4. In 500 words or less, explain how this scholarship will assist you in achieving your educational/career goals. Essays must be typed or printed neatly and submitted with application information.
5. Please attach current resume and an official school transcript.
6. Include two letters of recommendation (one must be from a supervisor, faculty member, or other individual knowledgeable of applicant's qualifications).

Harvard university School of Design

The Pollman Fellowship in Real Estate and Urban Development

Established in 2002 through the generous gift of Harold A. Pollman, the Pollman Fellowship is given to outstanding post-doctoral graduates in real estate, urban planning, and development to spend one year in residence as a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Applicants in the fields of political economy, economic development, urban economics, and other areas in urban planning and development related to real estate and urban development are also encouraged to apply.

NACCED Annual John C. Murphy Scholarship Grant Award Program

National Association for County Community and Economic Development (NACCED) invites applications for its 11th Annual John C. Murphy Scholarship Grant Award Program.

The grant award will provide assistance in the amount of $1,500 to an undergraduate or graduate student currently attending an American college or university with a chosen field of study that includes course work in the areas of affordable housing and/or community and economic development and who exhibit financial need. Students may not be awarded a scholarship more than once.

All applicants must be nominated by a member in good standing of NACCED.

All applicants must submit the following to be considered for the scholarship:

• Completed scholarship application
• Official school transcript with official grade point average
• Certification of financial need
• Collegiate letter of acceptance stating date of enrollment
• Personal statement — of approximately 500 words, typed, to introduce the candidate and his/her academic plans, identification of course work completed in the field of affordable housing and/or community and economic development, extracurricular activities, community service, and other achievements or awards
• One letter of recommendation — teachers, faculty members, or civic leaders
• Support letter from a NACCED member in good standing

University of Illinois at Chicago - Graduate Fellowships for Transportation Planning and Engineering Students

Deadline: Based on department of choice

The Graduate Program in Computational Transportation Science (CTS) at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applications from prospective transportation planning PhD students. As a National Science Foundation-funded Integrative graduate Research Education and Traineeship (IGERT), CTS engages students and faculty from multiple disciplines in collaborative research to improve the efficiency of day-to-day transportation. Fellowships provide an annual stipend of $30,000 for two years plus full tuition and fees, along with funding for international research experiences and domestic travel. Students must apply BOTH to a participating doctoral program at UIC (i.e., Urban Planning and Policy) AND directly to the IGERT program. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

The deadline for PhD applications to the College of Urban Planning and Policy is January 1. The CTS IGERT program accepts applications on a rolling basis.
