2024 National Planning Conference

Hotel and Travel

Minnesota is home to 10,000 lakes and Minneapolis features 22 of them. It is also the host to a very compact downtown area, making it easy to get around. There is an award-winning transportation system, including light rail and a bus system that will get you where you want to go.

The city is also the host to the Minneapolis Skyway System — the largest contiguous system of enclosed, second-level bridges in the world — composed of 9.5 miles of pathways connecting 80 city blocks.

Innovation thrives in this city to the north. Planners will look to Minneapolis for inspiration during NPC24 and the city will shine for them. The city boasts an extraordinarily rich and diverse history, with a thriving theater and arts district, a booming craft beer and restaurant scene, pro sports teams, and vibrant live music venues.

With an abundance of beautiful spaces and places — trails, waterways, and parks — it is a city to see. And if you aren't sure of the outdoors and would like to venture inside — visit The Mall of America for some tax-free clothing and shoes. It will be the place for planners in April.
