Who Can Take the Exam?
APA members may take the exam if they believe they are ready, even if they do not yet meet the experience requirements for certification.
Not a Member?
During Registration, You'll Confirm That You:
- Read and will abide by the AICP Code of Ethics
- Understand the certification process
- Reviewed the AICP Certification Guide
Once you've completed these steps, you're ready to register!
Important Reminders Before You Register:
- Make sure the first name and last name on your MyAPA profile match your government-issued ID. If not, contact APA.
- Need an accommodation? Review Appendix 3 in the AICP Certification Guide before registering.
NOTE: Accommodation requests must be submitted prior to registering for the AICP exam. - If you are considering taking a remote exam, you must:
- Read the updated guidance in the AICP Certification Guide.
- Review all of Prometric's system documents. (Note that both a computer check before test day and another on test day are required.)
- The exam can be taken up to three times during the window. Members who do not pass must wait 30 days from their exam date before registering for another attempt.
What Happens After You Register?
Within 24 hours, you'll receive an email with instructions to schedule your exam (in-person or remote) through Prometric.
