Housing Study
City of Shawnee
Shawnee, OK
The City of Shawnee is seeking proposals in preparation for a Housing Study and Needs Analysis. The study will examine the condition of the housing stock in the City of Shawnee as well as current and emerging community needs for housing supply. The Needs Analysis will provide the base foundation for future community plans, capital improvement projects, and comprehensive plan updates.
The results of this Housing Study will help elected officials, City staff, stakeholders, and community members understand key housing stock issues and help them to make informed decisions impacting the City of Shawnee. The Study and Need Analysis will assist the City of Shawnee leadership to overcome challenges and minimize obstacles by adopting rules and regulations in support of meeting housing needs for Shawnee residents. The study will also serve as a platform for strategy and policy decisions.
The report aims to offer community leaders and stakeholders a basis for formulating specific housing priorities, policy alternatives, and intervention strategies, including land use and zoning decisions, and allocation of City and other resources.
The study should assess existing housing conditions, availability of various dwelling options, demographic and market demands, and identifying critical housing gaps and issues. It should identify current and anticipated unmet housing needs and provide an outlook toward anticipated housing demands over the next 20 years. This study should be data-driven and be used to identify citywide and neighborhood-focused housing priorities and provide policy alternatives and intervention strategies to guide the City in decision-making for future housing needs.
