The City of Rogers is seeking to fill a new Planner I position within the Community Development Department. It is an exciting time in Rogers as we have adopted a new comprehensive plan that prioritizes placemaking and form-based unified development code, leading the region in planning innovation. The new code eliminated residential densities and single-family zones, allowing multiple residential building types in all zones.

Rogers is one of the four large cities anchoring Northwest Arkansas, one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the nation. Our historic downtown is minutes from the nature of the Ozark Mountains and Beaver Lake and the area has a robust cycling culture, having become the mountain-biking capital of the world. Rogers also includes multiple mixed use centers including one that is emerging as the "downtown of Northwest Arkansas" as the region's population approaches one million people.

This position will join a team of planners working to achieve this vision. Qualified candidates will have a degree in urban planning or related field. Preference will be given to candidates with coursework or experience in urban design and technical writing.
