JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include conducting site inspections and acting as the enforcement official for violations of land use regulations and blight ordinance. Also assists the Planning and Zoning Official with evaluating land use proposals.The Land Use Enforcement Officer will collaborate with various departments and agencies to facilitate the permitting process and enforce zoning ordinances.

The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent plus related experience in construction, architecture, geography, other land use setting or law enforcement. An understanding of land use regulations and proficiency with map and plan reading to identify wetland boundaries, easements, and other land notations along with strong customer service and computer skills including proficiency utilizing Microsoft programs. A Connecticut driver's license with a clean driving record is required. Current CAZEO certification is preferred or must be obtained. This is a part-time position consisting of 19.5 hours per week at an hourly rate of $30.00.
