About GHMPO: The Gainesville-Hall Metropolitan Planning Organization (GHMPO) is a non-TMA MPO located approximately 50 miles northeast of Atlanta in the city of Gainesville, Georgia. The MPO is housed inside Hall County Government within the Public Works Department.
About the Transportation Planning Manager: This position coordinates the development and maintenance of the area's transportation planning program as staff to the Gainesville-Hall Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), which is housed inside Hall County Public Works. Prepares technical reports, presents findings to groups, assists in budget preparation, maintains estimates and projections, and performs additional tasks as assigned. Coordinates with other local jurisdictions, Georgia Department of Transportation, as well as other departments and outside agencies, and performs additional tasks as assigned. Makes presentations to local governments, transportation organizations, and business and civic groups.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Planning, Traffic Engineering or related field. Master's preferred. Three to five years of transportation planning experience, preferably with an MPO or local government. Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) desirable.
Position equivalent to a Transportation Planner II/III. Though experience is highly desired, GHMPO will also consider applications for Transportation Planner I level.
