Annual salary: $265,000 to $295,000 DOQ

The Stanislaus Council of Governments (StanCOG) is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and collaborative leader to serve as its next Executive Director. Based in Modesto, California, StanCOG stands at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and regional impact–leading efforts to shape transportation, equity, and smart growth across the Central Valley.

The next Executive Director will:

• Serve as a visionary convener–building trust and alignment among elected officials, local governments, and state and federal partners.
• Champion innovation, transparency, and accountability–advancing projects that make a tangible difference across the Stanislaus region.
• Lead with integrity and inclusion–inspiring a high-performing organization while representing StanCOG's interests in regional and statewide policy forums.

Education & Experience:

A bachelor's degree and at least ten years of progressive management experience in transportation, planning, or public administration are required. Experience with an elected board, fiscal transparency, and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable.
