JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general direction, manages and directs major and complex programs, projects and routine activities of the Planning Services Division, including oversight of the City's General Plan implementation and amendments; policy development; manages the City's urban planning, base reuse, redevelopment, coastal and airport land use and zoning interpretations, and rezoning requests; provide staff support for Planning Commission, and serves as liaison for the Division; manages division budget; conducts complex research, analysis, and advanced report writing and presentations; evaluates and processes development proposals; provide short and long-term planning of program and project goals and objectives; and to perform other job related duties as assigned.

Receives general direction from the Community Development Director. Exercises direct and indirect supervision over management, professional, technical, and clerical personnel of the Planning Division.
