JOB DESCRIPTION

The Town of Jamestown, RI , a vibrant coastal community known for its natural beauty and strong sense of place, is seeking a full-time Town Planner to join our municipal team. The Town Planner performs a variety of professional planning duties including long-range planning, development review and coordination of community and economic development initiatives. This role works closely with town boards, commissions and residents to guide responsible growth, while preserving Jamestown's coastal character and environmental resources. Some responsibilities include:

• Guiding the community's physical development and ensuring that growth aligns with Jamestown's Comprehensive Plan,
• Reviewing development proposals and preparing technical reports and recommendations.
• Coordinating with state and regional agencies on planning initiatives and grant opportunities and more.
