JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Planner performs a broad range of professional, technical, and administrative duties related to current land use planning, zoning, and development review, with occasional involvement in long-range planning and historic preservation.

This position serves as the lead for current planning and permit review, and also handles assignments involving data collection and analysis, documentation, record-keeping, code amendments, and mapping.

The Senior Planner is distinguished from the Associate Planner by the greater complexity and variety of projects handled, a higher level of independent decision-making, and limited supervisory responsibilities.
