JOB DESCRIPTION

The Coastal Regional Commission (CRC), an EEO Employer, is a coastal Georgia based organization serving ten counties and thirty-five cities with comprehensive planning and development services. Our Planning and Government Services Department is announcing a new job opening for a Regional Planner. The Regional Planner will work closely with local governments on advanced, highly complex professional planning and government services activities.

The Regional Planner will:

  • Prepare local comprehensive plans
  • Prepare regional comprehensive plan
  • Implement comprehensive plans through planning tools
  • Provide staff support to local governments
  • Serve as liaison between CRC and external organizations

The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning or related field.
  • Minimum two years of planning related experience; graduate degree may be substituted for experience.
  • Interdisciplinary knowledge of urban and regional planning.
  • Knowledge of Georgia planning law.
  • Proficient in interpreting federal and state regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and Office 365 software.
  • Superior, demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail, solid organization skills, and self-motivated.
