JOB DESCRIPTION

This position conducts plan reviews, project inspection, planning studies and related activities to administer, develop and enforce the City's adopted land use regulations, design standards, and master plans.

This position works in a team environment within the Planning Division and with other city departments, consultants, agency partners, and the public.

Primary functions include:

• Providing technical information to applicants and members of the public on land use and zoning laws and regulations.
• Reviewing development proposals for compliance with City regulations and master plans, and negotiating development solutions with applicants where possible.
• Processing land use, communicating with referral agencies and community members, developing packet materials for public hearings, and inspecting development projects for compliance with approved plans.
• Preparing staff reports and maps; formulating department recommendations, and making presentations at public meetings throughout the City.
