The city's code of ordinances includes a section on alternative energy systems that addresses wind and solar energy systems. It defines "solar energy system," "ground-mounted panels," and "roof-mounted panels," and permits accessory ground- and roof-mounted systems in all districts (§60-163.2). The code of ordinances describes permit requirements, provides placement and design standards for both ground- and roof-mounted systems, and addresses aesthetics and glare.
