The Open Space and Conservation Element notes that solar is the city's most important alternative and renewable energy resource (§3.2.3), and includes policies for supporting alternative energy sources such as roof-mounted solar panels (OSC-3.2) and implementation measures promoting solar building and subdivision orientation (OSC-IM-3.1) and the use of solar installations (OSC-IM-3.1) and solar panels for swimming pool heating (OSC-IM-3.5).
