Solar energy

In the city's General Plan, the chapter on natural resources includes a policy to expand the use of green practices (Policy 1D), supported by action items including purchasing alternative energy sources as feasible for City operations (Action 1.25) and applying for funding to install solar panels on all City-owned structures to provide at least half of their energy requirements (Action 1.32).

The chapter on planning and design includes a policy to sustain and complement cherished community characteristics (Policy 3A), which is supported by an action item to require preservation of public viewsheds and solar access (Action 3.3).
