In the city's subdivision regulations, the chapter on design requirements includes a section on solar requirements, requiring that all major subdivisions provide to the extent feasible for future passive or natural heating or cooling opportunities as required by the state (§17.16.060). In the city's zoning code, solar collectors and other roof appurtenances are exempt from district height exemptions (§18.03.050.A.2). In mixed use districts, provision of solar panels and other green building measures for mixed use buildings earns an incentive of up to 10 percent increased FAR (§18.05.030.A.4).
