Solar Energy

The city's zoning ordinance exempts solar panels and other rooftop energy production facilities from height limits and maximum coverage restrictions (§20.300.006). Proposals for increased building height in residential and downtown districts may be approved with findings including that the proposed structure will not interfere with solar access to adjacent residences or those across the street (§20.080.003 & §20.100.003.B.2).
