The city's climate action plan notes the growing presence of renewable energy in the city, including 2.2 MW of solar energy installed on city facilities as part of 53 MW total installed solar capacity within the city as of 2012 (p. 26). The plan's second strategy, Clean and Renewable Energy, includes action items of solar-ready housing and aggregation programs (pp. 32, 37). The plan's chapter on social equity and job creation lists solar energy-related companies as important providers of local green jobs (pp. 48-50).
