Solar Energy

Within the city's zoning code, Chapter 28.11, Protection and Enhancement of Solar Access, defines solar-related terms and sets building height limitations in residential districts to protect solar access (Sec. 28.11.020). Solar energy systems on nonconforming buildings may extend above the building height maximums and yard requirements (Sec. 28.87.030.D.1.a.7, Sec. 28.87.062.A.4).
