Scenic View Protection

The city’s zoning code protects views from designated scenic roads using a scenic road overlay district. It requires property owners to maintain and preserve the existing vegetative buffer found within 25 feet of the designated right of way (§170-28.4). It also reviews the designation process, effects of designation, and stonewall protections (§143).

Solar Energy

The city's zoning regulations address solar in the Central Business District; green roof technologies, including solar panels for pitched roofs, are encouraged (Sec. 170-20.F.3.e).
