Accessory Dwelling Units

The town’s zoning code permits internal and attached accessory apartments by right in multiple residential districts and larger internal and attached or detached accessory apartments by discretionary approval in multiple residential districts, subject to use-specific standards (§135-3.4). These standards address units per lot, owner occupancy, exterior appearance, and unit size (§135-6.7). The code’s parking requirements address parking for accessory apartments (§135-5.1.4).
