The city's planning and zoning code includes a chapter on animal zoning regulations amended in 2013 (Chapter 21).

"Agricultural animals" require a minimum lot size of 30,000 SF; numbers are limited to 1 "large" or 2 "medium sized" animals per 10,000 SF; standards address enclosure size and setbacks, manure disposal, and prohibition from front yards (§10-21-2).

Chickens, ducks, miniature horses/pygmy goats, potbellied pigs, and rabbits qualify as "agricultural animals as pets" and may be kept in residential districts. Standards address nuisance prevention and enclosure setbacks and location (§10-21-3).

Beekeeping is permitted as an agricultural use subject to conditions, including a limit of 2 hives per 10,000 SF area of land, with 1 additional hive permitted per additional 10,000 SF; other standards address setbacks, and hive placement (§10-21-4).
