Farmland Protection | Food Systems

The county’s comprehensive plan addresses farmland protection and presents agriculture as one of the overarching thems of the plan. The environmental and sustainability chapter vision addresses the need to support and expand agricultural lands through the protection of prime farmland. And the land use chapter includes goals to help preserve farmland and describes agricultural land protection policies, including agricultural zoning districts, agricultural conservation easement, and agricultural area programs.
