Creative Placemaking

The city’s downtown plan outlines how placemaking strategies to strengthen public spaces and incorporates creative placemaking to support arts and culture. The plan identifies recommended actions for three subareas. One of the subareas, Capitol Park, is envisioned to become a space for artists. Strategies to support this vision include building flexible spaces that can be used for art installations and performances, incorporating areas for arts education, and encouraging arts environments during special events.
