This article discusses the implications of autonomous driving on transit systems. It discusses how autonomous vehicles will change personal commutes to feel more like transit trips, where passengers can use their time to engage in activities outside of driving. Additionally, it describes benefits for transit systems, such as increasing capacity through bus platooning, better paratransit service, and the possibility of incorporating bus rapid transit instead of light rail.
