This training module guides stakeholders through land use and siting considerations related to the development of renewable energy on contaminated lands, landfills and mine sites. The module explores the development processes, interests, and regulations, for both a wind and solar project on two sites - one city owned, one private – in the fictional town of Bellehaven.
It’s scenarios highlight considerations, challenges, and strategies for implementing the U.S. EPA RE-Powering America’s Land initiative at the community level. In the resources menu, it provides fact sheets for the wind and solar scenarios presented.
