This article investigates the procedural justice issues of large green infrastructure projects. It looks at the 606 in Chicago to assess how equitable the process of planning this new rails-to-trails project was, and how similar efforts can be improved in the future. It finds that relying on parks nonprofits to assess the equity impacts of projects is not enough, and advocates for greater coalition building and more leadership from public planners to avoid environmental gentrification.
