Social Equity

This article outlines the state of research concerning food environments and dietary intake. It finds that food access is inequitable in US cities, though not to the extent of cities in other developed countries, and that better dietary outcomes are associated with greater access and availability of healthy foods. It also discusses the limitations of food environment literature and calls for more multi-dimensional assessments.
