Housing Supply Planning

This web page introduces the American Community Survey (ACS), a program of the U.S. Census Bureau and a common public data source for housing supply planning. The ACS questionnaire collects data on demographic and housing variables, such as age, commuting, employment status, income, and housing costs, value, and number of rooms. The survey is sent annually to a random sample of about 2% of addresses and is therefore an estimate of a community’s conditions rather than an actual count.
