Housing Supply Planning

This web page introduces the Building Permits Survey, a program of the U.S. Census Bureau and a common public data source for housing supply planning. The survey collects data on the number of new housing units authorized by building permits from a nationally representative sample of permit-issuing places monthly, as well as from a larger sample annually.
