Comprehensive Planning

The city’s comprehensive plan, initially adopted in June 2021, organizes its policy recommendations under 10 goals: 
-10-Minute Neighborhoods
-Neighborhood Diversity and Inclusion 
-Housing Access for All 
-Transit and Trail Oriented Development (2T-OD)
-Safe and Equitable Mobility
-Healthy, Safe, and Active Communities 
-Integrated Natural and Built Environments
-Diverse and Resilient Economic Opportunity
-Retain our Identity and Charm
-Fiscally Responsible
Each of these policy framework goals has between 5 and 14 different objectives. The plan uses the concept of “Shared Mobility” to further their goals of Transit and Trail-Oriented Development and Safe and Equitable Mobility. These goals/programs are the city’s micro-mobility solutions with recommended research and pilot programs for equitable mobility.

Housing Supply Planning

This comprehensive plan includes goals to increase neighborhood diversity and inclusion and ensure housing access for all through various actions in Charlotte, North Carolina. The plan is organized into three documents: The Plan Policy, The Implementation Strategy, and The Manuals and Metrics.

Shared Mobility

The city's comprehensive plan includes policies to support the adoption of shared mobility solutions. The Transit and Trail-Oriented Development and Safe and Equitable Mobility goals recommend the city to research and pilot programs with micromobility solutions to achieve equitable mobility and transit-oriented development.
