Artificial Intelligence and Planning

This article proposes an artificial intelligence method for zoning protected ecological areas that maximize sustainability while accounting for urban development needs. It uses an improved artificial bee colony algorithm (IABC) to define the best scheme for protected ecological areas. The method also takes into consideration site attributes and aggregation attributes that allow for the comparison of different scenarios.
