The city's zoning code, adopted in 2019, is a citywide form-based code. It requires no off-street parking spaces for any land use, permits missing middle housing types, and generally encourages a pedestrian-friendly mixed-use environment.

It defines and regulates uses based on broad categories, with select specific use types, and includes use-specific standards to minimize reliance on discretionary use permits. It is richly illustrated and uses tables to organize use permissions and dimensional standards.

Awarded the 2021 Richard H. Driehaus Form-Based Code Award from the Form-Based Codes Institute.
