Urban Heat Resilience

This report discusses extreme heat and explores the effectiveness of heat response plans to address the risks associated with this hazard. Different sections of this report highlight the potential components of a heat response plan, how to identify vulnerable populations and locations, and several strategies to address the issue, such as surveillance, neighborhood outreach, cooling centers, and energy assistance the support low-income residents. It also discusses how to implement and update a heat response plan and showcases examples of heat-related interventions in several communities.
