This toolkit provides model food waste provisions that municipalities can incorporate into their climate action plan or sustainability plan. It recognizes that climate action plans are a good opportunity to introduce food waste reduction policies, due to the greenhouse gas emissions that food waste produces. This toolkit identifies that there are not many resources available for addressing food waste within a climate action plan and hopes to fill that gap.
