Three case studies from the Philadelphia region include one in Reading’s historic downtown, one in the sprawling suburban municipality of Upper Macungie in the Lehigh Valley, and one in Narberth Borough — a small, first-ring village with passenger rail service.

Presenters show how traditional transportation plans are being transformed to prepare these municipalities to qualify over the next four years for $4 billion in federal funding from programs created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Unless traditional multimodal plans are modified to meet the legislation's new requirements, communities will not qualify for this funding. These case studies cover a range of community types and real-world approaches to qualify for this game-changing opportunity.
