As an inductee into The Ohio State University’s prestigious Academy of Teaching and recipient of the university’s highest teaching honor and other major awards for his teaching, Kyle Ezell ignites fires of creativity and possibility in the minds of future planning leaders. On a mission to “push the planning practice forward while taking students on the journey,” Ezell mentors students in impactful projects recognized by the American Planning Association, including Autism Planning and Design Guidelines 1.0. Ezell inspired 300+ bachelor’s program graduates at Ohio State as its founding chair and influenced hundreds more graduate students as a result of his teaching, mentoring, and higher education administration leadership.
Professional Biography
Kyle Ezell, EdD, FAICP CUD, is a professor of practice in city and regional planning at The Ohio State University's city and regional planning program in the Knowlton School and a senior affiliate of OSU's Drake Institute of Teaching and Learning. He served in leadership roles as an elected board member and secretary of APA Tennessee in the 1990s and was a member of the APA Ohio Board of Trustees from 2013 to 2018, serving as APA Ohio's professional development officer during the final three years of his tenure.
